Inital Story Ideas

Here we have the three Initial ideas that I came up with after receiving my words, The first one is incredibly generic, as per usual however I feel that after the first idea I started to move away from stories that have already been done.

Some feedback on the first few ideas would be greatly appreciated so I can continue to move ahead and develop.

Initial Story Ideas
Character: Taxidermist
Prop: Bouncy Castle
Environment: Circus

Idea 1:
The taxidermist is a secluded man, spending all of his time at his workshop in a darker part of town. One day a circus is erected near to his workplace, causing the taxidermist to become distressed and angry. Due to the way his father restricted his childhood after his mother died, not allowing him to experience any of the enjoyment that childhood brings. The taxidermist looks out of the window and sees a bouncy castle which reminds him of an event from his childhood, where his father wouldn’t let him play on a bouncy castle with other children and instead was forced to work and learn his father’s craft. Back in the story the taxidermist is continually haunted by the image of the bouncy castle until he eventually gives in and reclaims his childhood.

1. This idea was the first idea I came up with after being given the words, as with my other projects it is incredibly generic, which is what I need to avoid at all costs. I like the idea of a child being forced into a line of work by an over controlling father but the story has been done to death.

Idea 2:
The taxidermist is an evil type character who lures animals into his workshop deep in the heart of an abandoned circus, it is here where he turns them into balloon type creatures and sets them free onto the circus grounds, where they are forced to wander, their only comfort is the bouncy castle that is still active, bringing a slight level of joy to their somewhat darker lives.

2. This idea was much too dark to consider animating, however it is much less generic then my first idea. Moving away from the stereotypical nature of a child who is forced into a profession at a young age.

Idea 3:
Taxidermist who is proud of his job and loves everything he does, acts rather whimsically when working, often dancing with the animals and statues he creates. Once his work is complete, he cleans himself up, changes clothes and walks out of his house to reveal an amazing circus with the animals that he created dotted around the grounds. He then proceeds to enter a bouncy castle with some more of his creations which appear to be moving now, bouncing in sync with him. The animation end’s with this scene slowly fading out. Creating a sense of a dreamlike state. Leaving the audience to decide if the man has gone insane or is living a dream.

3. This idea is much more interesting than my other ideas, for once the taxidermist character is not trying to be evil, and rather he is more enthralled in his work, and uses his creations to create a world of fun and enjoyment for himself, after he has taken part in his oddly whimsical work.
